RESEARCH JIGSAW: Access the Collaboration for Mental Wealth Research Themes Resource

Myshele Haywood from GREC, chair of our research working group, shares our key resource to help inspire and support emerging Moray mental wealth projects.

It’s hard work to build a research project from scratch – so the Research Working Group has put together some ideas to help you get started. Based on feedback from partners and peer researchers, we’ve identified key research themes and opportunities, rooted in community needs. We provide practical examples of research questions and design considerations, not as boxes to tick, but as possible inspiration for future projects.

The two-page document has four sections:

  • Topics/Themes: ideas to consider exploring, from broad issues like inequality and mental health through to more practical things like transport and community spaces.

  • Format/Location: the kinds of shared activities or places you could build a project around, from arts and crafts to Zumba.

  • Participants: the kinds of identities, backgrounds or experiences that might be relevant to your themes, for example young people, single parents, folk with chronic health conditions, or immigrants.

  • Examples & Points to Keep in Mind: how these elements can fit together, questions to think about, and general tips for building a meaningful research project.

The document can be downloaded by clicking the file. We hope it’s a useful starting point in developing your research project.

We are a collection of partners from the community of Moray and surrounding areas who are researching what works well in creating mental wealth in Moray through the co-creation of solutions and community-driven action. Our network’s aim is to mobilise knowledge held by Moray’s diverse rural community to create and sustain mental wealth for all. By connecting, empowering, and supporting collaboration across the network, we are exploring, testing and assessing new approaches to stimulate community engagement in research.

The network is hosted by Moray Wellbeing Hub and partners include Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre (DHI), Moray Art Development Engagement (MADE), tsiMORAY, Science Ceilidh, Arrows, Earthtime for All and Grampian Regional Equality Council (GREC).
